Rollie’s best friend. He grew up with Rollie in the ‘burbs. They’ve known each other since grade school, living across the street from each other. Garth is a guy who has always lived by the seat of his pants. Where Rollie had to work at things, Garth seems to have it all land in his lap. Every break in life goes Garth’s way.
Garth works in the family business, a plumbing wholesaler. “We’re Number 1 in the Number 2 Business!” Business is anywhere but in the crapper. The only reason for the big boom is because of the economy and the need for the product, not what Garth has put into it.
He managed to play some university hockey, but finished a few credits short of his business degree.
A bit of a puck hog and a chicken-shit on the ice (he never stands up for anyone when it gets rough). It pisses Rollie off that Garth doesn’t share his passion for the game and it’s a constant source of conflict. And it pisses Garth off that Rollie won’t pull the 2x4 out of his ass and realize NHL tryouts have passed.
