Garry only learned how to play hockey in his late 20’s. He was in a car accident that nearly took his life. He made a pact (with God, we hope) that if he recovered, he’d pick up the game. For this reason, he has a very clear view of what he wants out of life.
The team keeps him around because he's one of the original members. Garry thinks he’s lost a step or two. His team mates think he’s lost five or six. In his heart, he knows he’s slow. But he can't give up on the dream of playing on a championship team, any team.
He's a private investigator which sounds glamorous, but it’s really about spying on cheating spouses and catching people who fudge their insurance claims.
He's married with two teenage kids.
